I hope apple will officially release OSX on PC, but that
might just be a false hope.

yeah, i dont think apple would ever release their software
to run on any old hardware. However it is happening.

I've been experimenting with VM (virtual Machine) it seems
very stable for running dual or even multiple OS.

try ubuntu, it's getting to the point now where it's
ridiculously easy to setup and use.

personally,

as "buying" programs, is it more difficult to get hold of
them?

practically everything I've seen of use in linux is open
source and freely avaliable,

what sort of apps do you have in mind?

well you wouldn't find much in the way of linux programs in
a store or anything

you need a pretty good internet connection

windows programs can run through a program called wine,

50/50 chance it works though

cedega can run more in the way of games,

I'm only just getting started on it myself though, it's all
seemed pretty straightforward so far, but I really don't
know all that much about it, so don't take my word on
anything.

it's worth a go though, with the cd's that htey sound out
you get a "live" cd, which basically boots up without you
having to install it, so it's worth ordering a copy, it's a
win/win situation

I imagine it's slow as fuck as well if you're running it
under VMWare.....

well, i don't know what x86 is, but apparently the new-ish
version of the messageboard makes Safari crash now... (maybe
because of the automatic refresh function?)

so i'm using Firefox too...

well i'm using safari, not had a crash yet.

but it might explain the funny flickering effects i get when
i come on the board.
