can we sort this out? its really fucking annoying, and i
see it happen too much on this board.

right

1:- there (PLACE)
adverb
(to, at or in) that place
e.g Put the chair there.
The museum is closed today. We'll go there tomorrow.
There's that book you were looking for.
I'll have to stop you there, we've run out of time.
I've left the boxes over/out/under there.

there (INTRODUCING A SENTENCE)
adverb
1 used to introduce sentences, especially before the verbs
be, seem and appear:
There's someone on the phone for you.
There's no doubt who is the best candidate.
NOT STANDARD There's (= There are) lives at stake and we
can't afford to take any risks.
There appeared/seemed to be some difficulty in fixing a date
for the meeting.

2 LITERARY used to begin some children's stories written in
a traditional style:
There once was/lived a poor widow who had a beautiful
daughter.

there (SYMPATHY/SATISFACTION)
exclamation
used to express sympathy or satisfaction:
There, I've made it work at last.

2:- their
determiner
1 of or belonging to them:
e.g He gave them their coats.

2 used to refer to one person in order to avoid saying 'his
or her':
e.g One of the students has left their book behind.

3:- they're (nice easy one this)

contraction
Definitions:

they are

What's the point. The battle has been lost and our beautiful
language will never recover its former glory.

it's not a post about _language_, it's a post about _logic_.
if you _understand_ what those words are, there is no
mistake you can make. there is no verb in "their" or
"there". writing "they're" instead is not an evolution, it
is a mistake.
