I'm thinking about it, I've got a lot of heavy duty shit in
my house (big tv, shitload of sound gear, record/cd
collection) but I want to go out and live my life a little,
so I'm thinking of finding somewhere to store my crap, and
backpacking around australia,

anyone else done this before?

be appreciated too

btw, that sounds like a really good idea. don't forget your
mp3 player..i'd say that's the only thing you will need
really.

I think I might need clothes too,

I'm thinking of bringing my hard drives too, (hook up at
peoples places) what sort of damage can they withstand
during travel, would it be alright if I wraped them up in
soft clothes or something?

if you're off on travels don't take your hard drives with
you. leave your past behind. you wont miss it

don't bring your computer shit. just take the minimum. at
most take some music, a camera if that's your persuasion.
don't bring anything you wouldn't mind having stolen from
you.

I don't have to worry about getting mugged, I'm tuff.

I've only got a cd player, so I'll probably have to compress
the music I want into a wallet

but surely you sleep? i don't know exactly what sort of
backpacking journey you're going to be on, but from my
experience, the odd crook will wait until you're asleep to
make their move.

you should burn copies of your cds on cd-rs instead of
bringing the originals.

that's an idea, if only I had a cd burner

*dramatic orchestral brass stab*

what if my backpack is my pillow?

MULTITASK!

(yeah you've got a good point)

ah, some backpacks are more comfortable than others. that's
up to you. ;)

maybe a friend will copy the cds for you? are you
abandoning your place and things altogether or just leaving
for an inderminate amount of time? maybe leave your
valuables with friends and family and have someone watch
your place while you're away?

I'm going out to find a nice place to live specifically, I'm
sick of sydney, I want to move to melbourne, but I want to
see more places before I make the decision, thus the trip,

I could prolly borrow a cdr off someone...
