Is any one else here a fan of Lustmord, and in particular his album, "Heresy"?
I just got the new mastered version, and it's a great release for anyone into darker ambient stuff.

ah yes, lustmord. it's pretty good. I have 'Purifying Fire' which is sort of a compilation album. the track "Black Star" is very nice. so dark. with the horns and the howling. a slightly different version is on Heresy I believe.

i knew i needed to listen to Lustmord... i'm currently listening to my first Lustmord album, which happens to be Heresy... and, wow. i expected very good stuff, but this is better than very good. mindblowing.
i think i'm going to listen to it on repeat. and get lots of other albums by him.

I recently downloaded Purifying Fire, The Monstrous Soul and The Place Where the Black Stars Hang from usenet. They were pretty good but kind of just went by without really grabbing me and saying "listen to me, I'm great". Was I just not in the right mood? I generally like ambient, dark or otherwise.

Glad people are enjoying it. :-)
xceque, I haven't actually heard those releases. I have only listened to "Stalker", his collaboration with Robert Rich (which is another stunner) and Heresy.
I'd reccommend checking those albums out. And yeah, I do think you need to be in the right frame of mind. A dark room and a good sound system is a must. ;-)

They are. A lot of artists in this genre are hard to find...there is a brilliant Michael Stearns album called "Planetery Unfolding" which I got second hand on vinyl. Even though it's scratched and my record player is awful, it sounds amazing.
Lustmord's stuff is also hard to pick up. Probably just not enough demand or something.
