A new experience with videogames

I recently bought a pair of Proline 550 cans(my god, the
base) and figured out a way to feed the audio signals from
my gamecube into it. Then I popped in Resident Evil 4 for
another go around. Resident Evil 4. In the dark. With
headphones. HOLY FUCK.

Probably a good idea to close the thread now seeing as that
has absolutely nothing to do with videogames :)

To get back on topic, play videogames in the dark with
earphones. Especially Resident Evil 4. At the beginning when
the townspeople are trying to kill you and you're barricaded
in a house and they come crashing through the windows and
the door and you're trying to jump out but one of them grabs
you and you hear that chainsaw guy yelling and you try to
jump out the window but it's to late and you scream as your
head is cut off... ADRENALINE RUSH.

I never actually got any special feeling from any resident
evil game.. they're kind of not scary... try silent hill 2
or 3 with headphones...

Agreed. The chainsaw noise and decapitation scene makes you
wince even after you've heard it 20 times...

Resident Evil 4 is one of the absolute best games of the
moment, hands down. fucking great.

now it's not scary; if you want scary, try some of
the Silent Hill or Project Zero series (or Forbidden Siren
if you can handle the superhard, rigid, scripted to death
gameplay).

finally someone who gets it! silent hill and project zero
are scary.. resident evil is not.

Yeah, RE4 is intense and a fucking masterpiece... best game
of the year with ease. But the story and everything are pure
cheese, it's really regrettable.

Forbidden Siren= Siren? Man, that game had potential,
wonderful atmosphere and some cool ideas, but MAN... it's
just too hard to be fun! I can't have fun or be freaked out
if I can't anywhere. I can't beat that game, even a year
and a half later.

I guess I'm trying to say that it does a fantastic job of
forcing your body to produce adrenaline. It gets the heart
pounding. As for an overall sense of doom, System Shock 2
still beats all. If only they would do an update using one
of the newer graphic engines! That would rock SO hard.

i think that uzim meant only resident evil 4
because imo the first resident evil (rebirth) remake on GC
is very scary! uzim knows it.. and i'm agree with him about
that.

well, I mean that none of them actually had me
scared... avoid or shoot anything that moves and that's it..
the story behind the monsters is also too un-twisted.. a
mutating virus...

(now, let me also add that the best game ever is
this which would also make it the best game of
this year.)

perhaps because you never didn't try any resident evil on
game cube, belive me they are different on those of ps2, the
better are resident evil 0 ; resident evil rebirth and the
super resident evil 4. then re4 is the best game ever not
for his scary, but for his new and innovative game play. the
zombies are nothing against the famous ganados! maybe Ceri
and uzim could explain better what i mean. not because i'm
stupid :) but for my english! :/

changing console doesn't really change the entire game, does
it?

the thing is that with resident evil, there are actually
dangers where you expect them to be, but in silent hill you
never know when things are turning up...

for resident evil 4 in my opinion yes it is only for
GameCube. never seen a game like that on ps2. hmm.. maybe
mgs3 . anyway silent hill must be really a great game. what
is the better in you opinion? 1,2,3,4? i think that i'll buy
one of them. i trust myself of you! :)

all silent hills are great, but 4 is a bit less great. 1 may
be kind of "discouraging" to play these days if you're
playing it for the first time, as it is for ps1 (considering
graphics and stuff), but it's still pretty great! To get the
full story, I'd recommend to start with 1 and work your way
up...

I don't want to spoil your fun Mertens, but those Proline
550 headphones aren't really good. Most headfi websites
have rated them very poorly. It's a headphone for the
basshead (ie: somebody who doesn't understand quality sound
fidelity)

You should have asked here for quality headphones!

being a basshead is not the same as understanding quality
sound fidelity.. it's about preference. you can be a
basshead and a hifi enthusiast at the same time... you don't
have to only listen to diana krall live in paris because
you're a hifi enthusiast.

Well... they're a big step up in quality from what I had
before. I was considering the 750's or the highend
Beyerdynamics or Sennhiesers(No Grado's cause they don't
cover the ears) but takes me into the $400+ range and I'm
not willing to spend that kind of cash at the moment.

BTW, bump.
