HEYA HI HELLO THERE FELLOWS AND YOU GUY THERE!

time for another exquisite corpse. I was just listening to
the last one again, and I thought it was time for some more
magic! the last time I said I wouldn't continue if there was
too little interest, and that stands I guess...

What is this?
Well.. I had this idea.. get several music-makers
together and make a track. Each will make their part (one to
bass, one to melody, and so-on) without listening to the
others' part. A BPM and maybe a theme or scale is decided
beforehand, and when everyone is finished, it is mixed by
one of the participants or preferrably a person that only
does mix.

The general idea for the tracks is that they're supposed to
be as spontaneous as possible, which means it would be
preferrable for them to be done within an hour or two
(including the process of getting artists), so don't sign up
unless you have the time.

Exquisite Corpse

no links to parts in the thread, please

today: pentatone C scale (C E G A bH (bB)). It can also be
modulated to pentatone F (F A C D bE). anyone familiar with
blues will recognise the combination. 120 bpm

come on, folks, it's not hard. take ten minutes to write a
bassline in the right scale, e-mail it off and that's all
you have to do. it shouldn't take until tomorrow to hear
the results. don't be afraid - i've ruined past EC tracks,
so it won't be the first time someone's screwed it up. just
go go go!

actually the tracks can't be screwed up! that's the beauty!
there are no expectations, no indication as to how it's
going to turn out (except the scale and bpm, but that hardly
gives you anything)... no-one has the same "vision" for a
single exquisite corpse track (proven by the one that comes
in two separate mixes)...

the bassline should be sent to r40fs mail... you can decide
how long it should be, but it should have some
length. of course it can be looped and cut up and stuff like
that, but that's up to r40f.

this is a good lineup so far, but we are going to need some
kind of melody to carry this track along. now i know
somebody has got a casio they can riff on for a little bit.

now this is really taking shape, eh? :)

"sounds" are needed and you don't even have to really be a
musician to make "sounds". someone, anyone, who has a
microphone, please record the sound outside your window or a
toaster falling into the bathtub or bricks falling. the
possibilities are endless - we are looking for some sounds!
you can do it! please contribute - it's great fun.

Kay. A beat is done. I will send you a zip file with various
parts (the basic beat, some glitch with a tonal percussion
percussion element and without the tonal percussion thing,
and three chanels of vocal chopping). An mp3 file is
included to show what they all sound like in succession. Who
and where do I send it to. Is 3 1/2 megs too large???

and then proceed to mix it. thanks to the folks who have

if anyone would like to record some sort of sound or noise
for this, that slot is still open to whoever wants to step

I did no actuall producing to my audio. If you want
something with compression, gating, filtering, and such, I
can do that too. You should see how I can make a kick drum
sound.

Just an FYI, I have problems with my soundcard. Sometimes it
sets itself to the wrong bpm, even when I have it set to the
right one, so if the tempo is off, I can reset everything...
