Anyone know where I, a UK resident, might actually be able
to buy some of his records. On CD. For reasonable
prices. Usual sources are turning up nowt and google is
being singularly unhelpful.
Been listening to the set from Sonar and it's pretty tasty.

It's a good name. And sounds like it ought to be crazy
japanese noise, but isn't. Well, not noise anyway.

Oh. erm, people always want to know what it sounds like at
some point and I'm just rubbish at describing music. It's
sort of um... no I can't do it. :(

a description on www.lowlands.be:

"Quite unique combination of live instrument samples and
electronica. Worlds End Girlfriend can create the most
delicate of moves before ripping it to shreads with
screaming guitars or subtly disrupting with hard-drive
manipulation."

i'm sure that helped a lot :-/

I wish I knew what my xltronic email password was so I could
set up the smtp authentication. I replied via gmail instead
:)

hahaha! sounds kind of like something I'd like if that
description doesn't imply that it's mainly rock-ish...

..and a google search for worlds end girlfriend samples
wasn't really helpful either...

Don't let "guitars" make you think "rock". I know rock and
this ain't it.

no, I don't.. I've made stuff with guitars, and it most
likely couldn't even be called somewhat acoustic music.

the thing is that all too often when you see something
described as unique combination of live instrument
samples and electronica.
it turns out to be three
people, one on drums, one on guitar and one on bass, and one
of them has a foot-switch sampler that he sometimes records
a guitar-riff on, and loops it and then plays more guitar on
top... believe me, I've been going all too hopeful to
several concerts and left thinking: "what the fuck? it's
like 99% of other music out there, so why was it described
as something new and amazing?"

I'd say it flips between classical styles and electronica
styles. But quite how you'd describe each style is anybody's
guess. Or somebody else's guess at least. See how crap I am?

i heard WEG sometime back in my junior year of high school.
i was floored by farewell kingdom. and absolutely nobody had
heard of it! its such a good album, i was absolutely shocked
that i couldnt find more than a few people who had heard of
it. number of albums later, finally nice to see WEG get more
recognized. some really amazing work.

Though there appears to be much love for Worlds End
Girlfriend (which is a good thing!), I guess no-one can
actually help me out.
