this is going to be a bit of a tricky one to hunt down. i
was around at a mates house having a card night last night,
typically had to put up with drivel such as the new
coldplay, james blunt, maroon 5, etc. but on one song on one
of these albums (or it could be another which i forgot
about) there was a guitar riff which was EXACTLY like the
melody to computer love by kraftwerk. does anyone know what
i'm talking about? my friends won't have a clue but i do
remember saying something at the time, unfortunatley i
didn't ask who it was.

I think the song is good but I don't really feel the riff is
particularly well placed or integral, though I don't really
know the Kraftwerk song.

also in vaguely related news, Amon Tobin was played at least
5 times on Top Gear tonight.

I though there was a very BOCish bit too but I didnt
recognise it, when they were showing the interior of one of
the cars. They played Rosies and Cosmo Retro Intro Outro by
Tobin, I couldnt name the others.

I heard that Coldplay, in their defence (not that I
particularly like thier music), did approach Kraftwerk and
asked if they could use the riff from Computer Love legally
for one of their album tracks and the Germans agreed to it.

James Blunt does rip off the last 30 seconds of 'Riders on
the Strom' by the Doors on the end of one of his songs I
noticed. Terrible. He actually thought no one would notice?
the cheek.

my weasely ear detected it immediatly. The blunt scum.

ah yeah the song in question by the Blunt man is 'So Long
Jimmy'. The last 30 secs of it is a total rip off.

where did you see him i_x_ten? did you actually go to a
concert of his or was he live as part of the Glastonbury
thing on tv?
