yeah, I got it about a month ago... I had just sold some old
gear, so I had some spare cash.

I love it. It makes writing drum parts so much faster, and
more expressive.

It comes with an editor software, so you can save settings
and recall them, and assign everything on it to anything you
want, which is handy.

The pads are pretty responsive, and my 2 favorite features
are the full velocity lock, and the aftertouch abilities.

I also use it for triggering samples, not just drums.

In short, I love it.

oh, and I just got BFD, which, in combination with this, is
like drumming heaven.

the price

it's heavily overpriced...

the microKontrol is a better choice then looking at the
price

blah. the micro control is sucky. i cant stand small
keys...

...but more importantly, those pads are not ideal for drum
playing. bad response and sensitivity.

if youre looking specifically to have something for drum
programming, trigger finger is where its at.

the only other serious option for drum programming
controllers is the Akai SPD16, and it has no where near the
flexibility assignment wise, and I have heard its generally
not well made (not to mention the fact that Akai is doing
some rearranging on the corporate level, and I think its
very hard to even order one right now...)

it looks like allot of fun, I probably would not use it to
create my drum parts as my drum parts are heavely
programmed, but using it to trigger stuff + have a few extra
knobs would be sweet. I dont think it's expensive at all...
m-audio is always cheap.

Ive been staring at this one for awhile now, Been a bit
insecure about buying it as I have some other stuff to spend
my cash on, but it really looks like a fun piece of gear and
I feel that I deserve some fun

launching samples in ableton live !

you have other options ?
