I have learned that there exists an artist called P.A.L and his music is pretty good (sarcastic!) noisie. I've just got his album called Retro and it is good on all kinds of speakers, from best to shittiest; you can turn off low frequencies and listen to it from another room and it is still lots of fun. Because it is simple, childish rhythms and some intensive hissings and throbbings that are the core of compositions:)
His discog on discogs is rather massive. I doubt getting any more of it soon, pity.
So, noise and real industrial loverz. Do you know him? what do you think of this music?
Has it been mentioned here already ?

cool site (except for the way he named the sections). the samples sound pretty cool, i guess i'd have to hear the whole thing to judge. the vocals were too quiet in the discipline cover! :)

I recently bought a dvd containing a 90-minute interview by Kevin Smith with Stan Lee, about Lee's work in creating such Marvel-characters as spider-man, the hulk, x-men, etc.
hows that for nerdiness?
nice to see you like "2001" - I really like it. you'll like other Kubrick stuff too - I find that the greatest thing about his films is that they still look so incredibly fresh and crisp till this day.
and he had a GREAT ear for sound and music - it's pretty hard to find directors that use music really effectively, but Kubrick is one, as are David Lynch, Paul Thomas Anderson, etc.
I'll stop my essay now.
try and see "Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and love the bomb".

Dr Strangelove overtook full metal jacket as my fav when I saw it last year.
David lynch is also the sound designer for his films, as well as having a heavy hand in score composition.

only since Alan Splet died - he used to work together with Splet, in fact, he learned just about everything he knows from him.

the key to 2001 imo is that there _is_ nothing to understand. its a crazy trip and youre supposed to make your own interpretation of it.
ps. wow this thread got real off topid real fast

I'm glad you liked it. there is more noise in the album. Rather white one. Just why cut samples of white noise? :)
Wretched is my favourite with that simple rhythm.

my eyes are aching while browsing his site.. that color is dangerous. and the sections titles are indeed bad.
Vocals in discipline - maybe he's decided to make track without them - no vocals in his version, just the noisy beat.
