This music is so extremely CHEESY, hyperactive, youthful,
naive, and at times oblivious to the real world... How could
it not be one of lifes greatest musical guilty pleasures?

Favorites -

Ayumi Hamasaki
Initial D soundtrax

i think i'm going to really hate j-pop with a passion, if my
brother keeps on listening to it all the time and if i'm
masochistic/desperate/lacking imagination enough to keep on
studying japanese.

(but i like some tracks, yeah.)

(what the fuck... i'm a geek and an otaku, i'm
technophobic and starting to hate the current obsession with
japan everywhere... is this self-destructive behaviour?...)

what does "otaku" mean?

i wouldn't worry about it because japanese pop sucks.

oh, whatever.
my brother likes a lot a band called "GO!GO!7188", i used to
listen to it a lot as well some time ago (album called
"Dasoku Hokou" i think). i love the "Katamaritaino" track
off Katamari Damacy soundtrack (which i should try to get in
its entirety someday) too - i think the singer is called Yui
Asaka. "Colors" by Utada Hikaru is ok, i don't know where i
got this track or who gave it to me though. can't think of
any other ones, although i must have a few.

good night.

"otaku" = kind of the japanese for geek, but more about
manga and anime than computers and video games.

my previous comment wasn't directed to you by the way : )

i cant believe you dont learn how to speak japanese at you
japanese studies, is this normal for this study? i knew a
guy who did it and went to japan (to speak japanese i
presume)

I like Ayumi Hamasaki, specially some remixes, there is GOOD
old cheesy trance, but I like it a lot, I simply can't get
enough of it

is there any j-pop that uses a lot of electronics instead of
faux-strings and 80s wank guitar?

there's no such thing as self destructive behaviour with
stuff like this, just do what you like and be yourself, the
LESS you adhere to a stereotype the better.
