Any fans of his here? I am really getting into his albums,
even the one he created for the Millenium Dome ("Ovo") which
has some beautiful tracks. I'm not sure about the new one,
"Up", but I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Oh yes, I remember Funkmaster being into Peter Gabriel. What
happened to him? I remember him being a really nice guy.

I reckon Ovo is brilliant if you forget what it was designed
for. Some very moving songs, particularly the first and
last.

Those two tracks are especially moving....

Listening to the first track: "Oh god, do I have to sit
through this whole fucking 'multimedia' wank
opera....?"

(Emotion: Despair)

Listening to the last track: "Thank god that's over"
(Emotion: Intense Elation)

i like him.

i have Up, Passion, 4 (Security) and Secret World Live.
Up is a great album. the first four tracks off 4 are
flawless (the rest is between good/v.good and average, a bit
more unequal). Passion is pretty "essential" though it's
unlike his other work... you may have heard some of it
without knowing it.

not sure about funkmaster..he just left i think.

i don't know about those songs either, haven't heard it in a
long long time..

Well that's one interpretation I suppose. I'm surprised you
didn't like the first track, it's generally the least
despised one of the lot for people who are disgusted with
the album. ;)

i have his first three solo records, and i think he is just
fantastic. i also love the records that genesis made when
he was a member. the lamb lies down on broadway is one of
my favourite records ever.

Phil Collins or Gabriel. hmmm. Which to choose. Well,
atleast they are both bald now. Phil can rest in that when
he listens to his own shite back catalog. Gabriel as some
serious artistic integrity.

"up" is not that new. a few good tracks on it, as i
remember.

i like a lot of his solo tracks, but i prefer his songs with
Genesis back in the 70s, when Genesis wasn't that pop shit
it became later on.

Yeah. He did say in an interview that he would be more
productive after Up (considering the huge gap in between
that and the last album.) Hopefully something new will
emerge soon.

I like Genesis a lot too.

It's a mutual agreement, i correct tridenti and he corrects
me. Just because you can't accept that there are other
people in this world different to you doesn't mean you can
go around shouting profanities at them.

Nice avatar.

you mean "this world" = "this mb" ? is xlt a whole world for
you ?

Some people like tridenti, some don't care about him or even
don't give a shit. And some are really pissed with him. Why
? You'd have to be psychologist to understand that ! Accept
it !

but this is a world, for I live in many worlds.

As for the psychology the inhibitions encountered in the
real world aren't as concentrated here in this virtual
world. This leads to people being less reserved as usual ie.
dog_belch wouldn't be as mean, tridenti wouldn't be as
exuberent etc.

Another explanation is that these people may have created
characters as a form of escapism and maintain their personas
evn though the may secretly enjoy the others' posts.

I don't think "some don't care about him or even
don't give a shit." is accurate, i think it more as a case
of they don't mind him.

and no I do have a life out of XLT, just check out my
kayaking thread.

I just bought "So" by Peter Gabriel.

It's really not as good as his other albums. A bit too poppy
for my tastes, although it has most of his hits on there.
