I just had to make this now. I just got most his stuff off tolstoyed a while ago, and if it hadn't been for the fact that getting empty cds is something I forget every time, I would have listened through it all before. I just got through it, and it is completely and thoroughly enjoyable music! Anyone else listen to it (I put two tracks from him in that japanmix I just did.. I kind of did it BECAUSE of takagi, so that I could have something to discuss with people if they got inspired to check his stuff from the mix)! anyway, it's very varied stuff.. lots of different styles, but he does them all very well although I love the more minimalistic stuff and the jazz stuff more than the samba-ish songs... |

most of his stuff is good. but I don't like his glitch stuff. but I don't like glitch in general. my fav. tracks are Venetian Red Girls Fausel Maggie's trip that computer voice in maggie's trip is just lush. I don't know what he's saying but I make up my own lyrics :) I'm gonna buy that Coieda DVD box set with his videoclips soon. they are very colourfull and nice. |

also check out Hanna Hukkelberg - Cast anchor EP it's a bit like takagi masakatsu in terms of mood and atmosphere. but it has lyrics. you may like it. |

Just got Pia (CD+CD-rom) and World Is So Beautiful (DVD) in the mail! Now I can finally get rid of those pesky mp3s! Pia is good, of course, haven't checked the CD-ROM yet.. watching World is so beautiful right now, and even though the music is great, it's still clear that when he shot the footage for some of these videos, he didn't really have a plan for it, so the result is just a sort of "oh, looky!" thing with lots of colours and video effects on some random footage. I love birdland #2, though.. haven't seen much past that yet. Also, sometimes when I watch the videos, knowing he's Japanese, it makes me a bit uncomfortable, as there are so many children in them... Japanese people are, as you all know, weird. |

Ah yeah, this is awesome! Tolstoyed recommended it a while back, but I never got around to buying anything. I'm trying to buy all the Takagi Masakatsu stuff so that I can get rid of the mp3s and support the artist for real, but I know it's going to be a while before I can afford it all (coieda costs like 40$), so I may as well try to get a hold of this stuff before that! I'd like to check more thoroughly before buying, though.. are you sharing? |
