So I just played this game. hmmmm..... I'm uncertain how
any company, group of individuals, enterprise, or industry
can possible release something so mediocre and think it is
representative of some type of progression. This game was
horrible.

I'm an avid Metal Gear fan and picked up Pandora's Tomorrow
last year while waiting for MG3 to come out in the fall.
What can I say, I actually enjoyed SC:PT. Its no MG, but
the game was good. On the otherhand, SC:CT was horrible...
a damn near embarassment in fact.

Has anyone played and beat this game yet? What dud you guys
think?
I played in on PS2 if that means anything, though I can't
imagine the XBOX version could salvage this piece of shit.

Haha, I just looked up as the shit credits while I was
typing this... Amon Tobin composed all of the music.

i have and played through the whole first game. liked it but
nothing spectacular.

picked up pandora's tomorrow while waiting for mgs3. never
really got into it. perhaps just too much of the same. so i
really have no ambition to check out the latest SC game,
even though it got such rave reviews.

i also enjoyed hitman 2 on gc quite a bit (more than SC but
not as much as MGS) and picked up hitman contracts but
didn't really get into it either.

i think metal gear solid has spoiled me

New camera angle (directly behind Snake at all times)
More Snake vs Monkey Games
A boss fight mode (basically just fight all the bosses in a
row)
Online mode w/ up to 6 players on the same game
metal gear and metal gear 2: solid snake (previously only
released on the MSX home computer

LAZY_TITLE

the only huge draw could be the multiplayer/online feature

i probably won't buy it since i already have the first issue

Oh dear people...

MGS is a console piece of shit.

The Splinter Cell series is fantastic I have played through
the original and Chaos Theory and throughouly enjoyed both.

I can see your game knowledge is not as good as your music
knowledge.

First of all, the PS2 version doesn't do the game justice at
all. Xbox/PC or bust. Every other SC port is a joke.

Second of all, SC is my second favorite series of the last 3
years, but Chaos Theory DID sort of disapoint me. They tried
to make the levels open-ended and allow for more freedom,
which I HATED. It was confusing and the eggress points
weren't clearly marked. The SC series has always been
criticized for its linearity, which is stupid and shows that
certain critics are missing the point. If you want stealth
freedom, play Thief. I loved how taut and straightforward
the first 2 Splinter Cells were. Sort of artificial but a
nice setup, every room sort of presenting a new problem.
Solve it, move on. They did away with that simple, effective
structure and now finding what room to go to is sometimes a
problem. Too much arbitrary, worthless item/info collection,
again going back to the Thief-thing. Not needed in this
series.

The Xbox version is probably the best looking console game
yet, though, and of course it sounds great. The game has
style up the wazoo. Overall, it's probably my second
favorite game of 2005 so far, but I liked the first two
more. The stealth aspect is still unsurpassed, it was just a
few level/gameplay design issues just irked me a bit. They
listened to the critics, problem is too many critics don't
have a clue.

It's inferior to Metal Gear Solid 3, but then again, so is
everything. The games have very little in common and
shouldn't even be compared anyway, totally different
objectives and styles, the only similarity being that you
should hide from people. And I'm definitely getting MGS3-
Substinence. Mainly for the new camera, that's a feature
I've always coveted.
