Any fans of herzog here? If so, anyone ever seen heart of
glass? I really like this film, and was just informed by my
girlfriend that the ingredient that makes red glass is gold.
So now the whole alchemist thing makes sense. And the fact
that the duke was willing to rid the village of gold so that
he could make the red glass reappear (not knowing that the
gold is necessary for the red glass) all started to come
together.

Anyways, anyone who hasn't seen this should. All the actors
are hypnotized, so it has this really creepy air about it,
because everyones walking around and acting like zombies.
Its a bit slow though, so if you can't sit through movies
that don't move quickly, don't watch it. But thats kind of
the same with most herzog films, anyways.

It bothers you that you haven't seen it yet?

Its good. Not drop everything and go good, but good
nontheless. You need to be in the mood for herzog

yeah, i know, i'm a weathered Herzog fan (been through the
good and the bad)... i regret that i haven't seen this one,
mostly because of the hypnotism thing...

My girlfriend bought me the box set with heart of glass,
strozek, heart of darkness, fata morgana, even dwarves
started small, little dieter needs to fly and kaspar hauser
for my birthday last year. It has my three favorite ones,
strozek, kaspar hauser and lessons of darkness. I just made
a thread about heart of glass because I thought the alchemy
connection was really neat. I love films like that.

But yeah, see heart of glass as soon as possible. Its still
one of his best.
