Is there a way to just have ONE. I see no point in having a seperate Administrator and then my own user name. Stupid. But it won't let me delete either, I have to have both?

i think you can also log in as admin, make your default account an administrator, then set it to log that account in by default.
although, i could be wrong and incorrect.

I can make it not show up on the log-on screen and stuff, but I can't delete it with the user manager or change it to non-administrative type and then delete it or anything like that. All it lets me do is rename it. Would it work if I just deleted the folder out of documents and settings?

no. it would recreate the folder when you logged back in as administrator.

Ah yes that looks like it will work. Now before I do this, is it safe to just use the built-in Administrator account? Is there some reason they try and force you to use another one?

if you set an administrator and don't use it, then have your own login and use that all the time (which appears to be the situation in your case)..
thus when you are logged in under your username, no vital changes can be made to the operating system and it leaves you guarded against virus' and such, since only these changes can be done under the administrator. no?

i've just looked in mine and i do actually have administrator and my own name, i think maybe there needs to be an account called 'administrator' but you should be able to delete the other one and leave administrator as the sole account.

make the account you want to use a member aof the "administrators" group.
i think the 'administrator' account is required.

Yeah, what I was trying to do is just use the Administrator account, instead of using or having any others. So now I just have Administrator and no others. I'm going to restart hopefully I come back.
