it was scrapped and development started again in 2004.. as
the article says.. i remember this..

old news. why are you eagerly awaiting longhorn anyways?

everyone knows ZETA is the way of the future!! :D

if only they'd fucking release the damn thing.. only a week
or two now..

longhorn still has a year and a half (at the best estimate)
before it is released.

i'm fairly pleased at the usability of ubuntu right now, and
they're on a 6 month release schedule. that's three new
versions, not to mention the other 47 bzillion linux
flavors. and, apple is on 18 month (i think) schedule,
which means another huge upgrade for the mac camp too. and
from what i'm hearing tiger is pretty dope.

this had better be pretty good or else redmond may stand to
loose some of their overwhelming dominance.

it's kinda exciting i guess.

I'm not waiting for Longhorn, per se.
I was hoping they would scrap and rebuild it.
I don't really pay attention to alpha or beta builds so I
guess that's why I missed the rebuild part.
thanks to digg.com for misleading me
Never heard of Zeta... I'll check it out

Thanks for this
Find
"zeta is electronic. zeta is music. zeta is electronic
music. the official zeta site. electronic MUSIC, not
ELECTRONIC music"
MP2 files. Interesting.

it's not even beta yet, so it's probably not worth having.
i think right now it is still basically XP with a slightly
different (broken) skin and a few non-working sprouts of
things to come.

i believe the first beta is scheduled for june, although i'm
skeptical that it'll be out then.

ive found some betas already on torrent sites.and i wont
touch it.

but.

ive found longhorn skin for style XP ( which i have )
aswell, so i will just check it in this way.

nope you're on to the wrong lead there.. LAZY_TITLE

i was being sarcastic about it being the way of the future.
i do however think its idea - the media OS - is the way of
the future. Zeta however has far too small an application
base for lots of people to go about installing it as a
replacement for windows.

be ghosts in the shell

they now have a RSOD for big crashes, as well as the
standard BSOD (____ screen of death)

so, that is a new feature, longhorn will be amazing I'm sure
