that i dislike people who in my opinion have no musical
education - like they listen through their whole life to
about 30 albums or so - all techno or hiphop...

i can't stop it... a girl is getting less interesting than
imediatly!

that's jack and i only talk to him because we'rre both verry
happy to agrrree to disagrre. i mean i know this is a music
MB but by god 9 times out of 10 the last thing i want to do
is DISCUSS music. i want to listen to it.

that's what i'm like too - i don't see that there is much to
gain from discussion really, especially when it's usually
"do you like this" "yeh"

it doesn't really matter if someone has another another
opinion than me - i mean i still argue with my friend about
the meaning of confield or our favourite topic "idm" - but i
know that he knows what he's talking about...

someon who's sqeaking and screeming bout the new spears
album just doesn't deserve my attention :>

If I didn't have education about music then I'd like a lot
more of it. It's like indie. Most of the time when I hear
it, it physically makes me sick. It literally and physically
makes my stomach hurt! Well-composed music makes me feel
good and I can enjoy it. I think this is down to my
appreciation of the talent that went into making it.

I must admit I do get frustrated when people say stupid
unfounded things about the music I like and my own music.
Some of them, who are into simple trancey stuff, just seem
to be listening to different music when I show it to them.
The other day one of them labelled Plaid as "random" and
"abusive" sounding. I don't hear anything random or abusive
about Spokes. And then there are all the common claims that
albums like Druqks are made by computers and take no skill
and aren't made with real instruments, blah blah.

However, it's not a friendship issue at all. It's just
something trivial to get pissed off over for about 10
seconds with a friend, before returning to doing things that
everyone can enjoy rather then me and my odd musical tastes.
Yep.

I don't know; I like discussing music. It's almost like
discussing a film, only on a more abstract level. There's
just something nice about sharing a love for a certain
"bit", or sharing feelings or images that are invoked with
certain bits of music. Even debating how "good" something is
can be enjoyable-while the answer is of course subjective,
there are elements that I like talking about and which can
be discussed in isolation-production, melodic content,
atmosphereic qualities etc.
I guess it's different for everyone. I'm sure some of you
would cringe like fuck to what I wrote above, and all the
power to you. It's just something I like to think about and
can't help but enjoy discussing, and some other musicians
seem to feel the same way while others don't.

after someone jokingly linked some online dating
service/matchmaker site i browsed it for an hour or so and
then a few other sites (i'm well aware of how sad this is)

something that really bothered me was how people replied to
music questions. they said things like 'i listen to
everything!' or 'all kinds of music' and then proceeded to
list pop music.

i'm a douche.

"all techno or hiphop"

I think you're being a bit unfair there... techno, sure, but
hiphop?

hahaha! me = self-righteous!

I don't really care when people don't listen much to music..
that's their choice.. what gets to me is people who listen
to those generic
"made-to-set-a-mood-that-goes-with-the-pictures" soundtracks
like lord of the rings, the rock and all that...

Well there is a lot of crossover between what I like and

I think some people should change their view about IDM being
