Decided to put out a CD-R of work

Electronic music - > idiosyncratic beats threaded through
ambience and evolving melodic arrangements

Forms elastic brings together 15 room tracks

All cd-rs come encased in ejector style cd casing....

£4.50 from glowbulb

Sound samples ::::

percule

field of green

I liked the tracks, I really did. And you do deserve support
I think, but I don't know if I'd pay for it. It'd have to be
"Fucking this I NEED" rather than "Yep, pretty good". For
me.

well of course - why buy anything unless you really want
to......... thanks for checking it out :)

Oh then I felt bad, saw there was money in the PayPal
account, and ordered it. So there.

would that get if everyone did that?

i don't think it's a big deal, people spamming their own
tracks for sale. i can't imagine there would be too many
people doing it, for the simple reason that there's not
enough buyers, the market is saturated completely.

i'd check this out but i'm working on buying a house, no
spare cash.

i've enjoyed some of your free tracks before, room, and it
was good. best of luck with your release!

£4.50? for a cd-r?

offline room from Sheffield (United Kingdom) on 2005-05-08 08:43 [#01591558]

cd-r's cost more per unit than a run of audio CDs per
unit.... but its about the collection of work having some
value to some people - its also about me putting out a
finished product independantly.... i like to see things
through - get them finished - i have to do this - so i can
move on to the next work knowing i have completion on the
last.....

limited to 100 copies....... 63 left

that maybe so, but asking the same price for a burned cd
that an EP on a pressed cd costs is verging on the
ridiculous to me.

offline room from Sheffield (United Kingdom) on 2005-05-08 08:54 [#01591574]

This is 15 tracks

A EP is more

A EP costs 50p to make per copy

An album (where you get no CD) costs £7 from iTunes to
download - for an inferiour quality sound product

Ridiculous is a strong word to apply to a CD-R full of
original music - unless of course you have only ever ripped
off hard working artists via soulseek all your life

offline room from Sheffield (United Kingdom) on 2005-05-08 08:54 [#01591575]

An EP is four tracks that should read

You must have spent a fortune @ warp qrter looking at your
record bag..... and a CD-R is more durable than vinyl.....

thats balanced :)

anyway - its worth £4.50 to the people who are prepared to
pay that for what they get.....

no, the xltronic discography mostly consists of warp
records.

that is just a small part of what I have.

"Ridiculous is a strong word to apply to a CD-R full of

at least you're keeping the argument civil.. I wasn't
talking about content.

content: the actual music on the cd or cd-r.

well the content is worth a lot to me - i made it with love

some listeners like it too and are prepared to pay a little
towards owning

some people don't care for it at all..... and thats fine -
thats music - different tastes....
