So this time, yes this bloody time I've decided to quit, for my 19th birthday. But here the realistic pinch I'm in. Today is my birthday, and I want to quit for/on my birthday. Does that mean I can't buy one more pack for today and enjoy the hell out of it? Or should today be my last day to smoke?

just don't smoke. its hard enough, you have to change to a non-smoker personality acitvly. if you buy a pack you are at best a smoker who just doesnt smoke at the moment. well..

somethings gotta hit you, like a real hard smack in the face. An epiphany one why its so bad, or damned expensive. I've let it run my life, I don't even consciously think about the expenses or the danger. But I'm an adult now, and even tho I still buy them without trouble, Now I get this boast of confidence that its legal for me now, which inclines me to buy them more often. This, coupled with the fact that I sound like a dying bum coughing at school some days has really given me that smack in the face.

erm nicotine doesn't relax you - in fact it increases adrenaline in your blood by 15-75% !!! People just think it calms them down but it doesnt.

its a nice idea but could ruin your birthday if you have bad cravings etc, so i would quit the day after. going cold turkey is a pretty hard way of quitting. i tried, i failed.

smoking isn't that bad, you only have to be reasonable. but your case of dying bum coughing makes me think you smoked too much.
One strange thing I remember is when I smoked my first cig I found it really disgusting, it gave me nausea etc.. but now I can't stop...
I know the good method for stopping is the one Cheffe1979 did
I don't think stopping on a special day is a good idea The special day has to be simply the one when you know for sure you'll never do it again.
