Pasolini film based on de Sade's story of the same name.
I'm sure some of you have seen it, what do you think about
it? I have been coveting it for a long time because of its
infamy, just got around to getting it the other day and it's
the kind of movie you just need to talk about and then, once
you get it out of your system, maybe try and forget. I've
seen it taunting me on Torrent sites for like years and I've
NEVER been able to get the whole thing (it's on Torrentspy
right now, nice and healthy).

This is the first night in many weeks where I did not/could
not jack off, ho ho ho! Basically the movie is set near the
end of the second World War is about some rich fascist
perverts who abduct 8 boys and 8 girls and basically keep
them on their estate as sort of sex slaves. They rape, beat,
humiliate, torture and kill them for 120 days. They are some
very uncool dudes, and they aren't even hot. So there's like
NO silver lining for their victims.

Definitely an interesting movie. Isn't as extreme as I
expected, visually, as the shock bar has been consistently
raised since the late 60s/early 70s, but it's still totally
sadistic in every other way and fairly disturbing. I WAS
genuinely revolted at one point. I could just barely make it
through the third ''chapter'' of it because of something I
personally find superultraexcessively repugnant. I think
it's the first time I ever gagged watching a movie, and I've
seen Nekromantik and Spiceworld. Stupid section, though, it
wasn't the kind of stimulating abhorrence that the rest is.

There is some beautiful stuff in this movie, some positive
niblets I extracted from a generally miserable experience.
Son Tanto Triste, the opening and closing theme, is one of
the best things I've ever heard, I ''rewound'' it and
listened to it like 20 times. I'm going to listen to it many
more times before I die and unfortunately the song is going
to be tainted every time in my mind, what a shiny shame. And
there's tons of great piano work all through the movie. I
liked the setting, even though it's accomplice to some
totally uncool atrocities, and Renata is sooooo cute.

Definitely got me thinking, upset me. Hard to believe people
can do that to people, but then again, they do. I wonder how
many would love to have carte blanche to have that kind of
power. It's not farfetched, though even the most successful
career sickos only get a small taste of that kind of
''pleasure''. And there's some political/social allegory,
I'd have to research that to know all the context, don't
think I care to though.

One and three quarters out of four stars, but it was very
worthwhile. Son Tanto Triste alone makes it a smashing
personal success.

Yeah I was pretty sure I saw one a while back... the damned
search function! I would rather have the search function
than a main site.

The music is wonderful, and it's used dementedly (!) in the
movie. I'm going to compile my own version of the soundtrack
based on a thread I read on IMDB.

Ahaha, thanks. Somehow I knew when I saw there was 90
replies that it was going to be less about the movie and
more about eating shit. You guys!

Trivia: The "excrement" in the coprophagia scenes was a
mixture of chocolate and orange marmalade.
