Anyone else like these guys? I notice Pitchfork finally got
around to giving them a thumbs-up, with the inevitable
comparisons to Fiery Furnaces. Which is a fair comparison
except AiH is overall a happier, more sesame streety muppety
listen - I don't like how FF manage to sound bored and
sneery in the midst of their complex "fun" tracks.

smamples

It just might be my album of the year.

i mean if they at least wrote one song about beetles, then
i could see how it would mean something... and i'm not that
knowledgable in the beatles, perhaps they did write
something about the insect, but i sure as hell missed it
hahah the same could be said with beet. i beet it she beats
it , the vegetable...!

maybe it has something to do with beats ............. just a
thought :>

maybe brittney spears should write a song about spears, and
other hand weapons.

i know what it means, i'm just saying...well actually what
bob is saying here. britney really is a fanatic in hand
weaponry it has nothing to do with her last name. so that
would put her in the same caliber as that of the beat=les.
i'm not saying its not a witty name, it is, but i would
prefer architecture in helsinki over the beatles, simply
because i dont know where helsinki is. i'm assuming its in
europe or something...

oh, it's quite nice. there is the old center with
jugend-type buildings, and then some lovely 50s
functionalism, combined with cool old living areas with
small houses and horrible newer concrete places. just like
every european capital but with a smaller size maybe.

i actually think helsinki is the nicest city i have ever
been to or lived in. and it's kinda nice to say it out loud
too.

hey, i used to live in a city they call 'the ski capital of
finland'

i'm sure its a lovely place, i'm saying it sucks for you
because you already know about the place. ii'm not saying
just cause youre not from europe you must not know where
helsinki is but its unlikely for most non europeans to not
know about the place... i would like to go there sometime
with all this talk about the place. except i wont look at
any pictures. i'll just go by plane and surprise myself!

turku is much nicer. Last time I went to helsinki, I ended
up in the police station.

mm, the architecture in helsinki's got its good sides and
bad sides. I'm no resident (yet), so I won't pass
judgement.

but, eh, to say that for non-europeans to know of Helsinki
is something of a miracle... well, okay? hmm. scary.

I would assume people (unless their americans, I guess) care
about capital cities somewhat. I even know that Wellington
is the capital of New Zealand, and Dar-es-Salaam of
Tanzania. Perk up your geography.

(but what the fuck is the capital of Austr... Canberra, yes
yes!)

boxbob: i just didn't want to mention that :D

the band might be good though. let's not go too far off
topic!

it seems to not exist when looking at all those hip top ten
lists on sites. how depressing.

if i owned pitchfork it would be:

1. the books - lost and safe
2. architecture in helsinki - in case we die
3. sufjan stevens - illinois

and that's it.

well, i'm one of the few who really enjoyed the analord
series as well. my old age is keeping me from remembering
releases from earlier in the year.

far.
