I dunno, sometimes you see someone else's 'x' and you think, 'It'd be nice to have that...' and I think that's normal and fairly harmless. It's only when that thought either makes you sad about what you have, or makes you resent the other person, that it becomes unhealthy. The easiest way to rationalise it is to look at people with less/in a worse position than you. I'm not talking about people in africa, I mean in "real life", just down the road from you. Even the extremely wealthy probably see other millionaire's bigger houses, faster cars, etc. and feel slightly envious, you just can't let it get to you/affect your relationships with other people. |
