Hey everyone...I have to drive from south of Los Angeles to
San Francisco tommroow all by myself.....
Its about a 7-8 hour trip....

Any suggestions on what cd's I MUST take for the
road?....Perhaps to make the trip a little less
monotonous...

pssst...I mean besides Geogaddi...that is a given.....
Thanks all

just looking for suggestions....

well apart from the holly trinity...
well did you include plaid on that? cos double figure is
awesome
i would always have massive attack near, just for the
relaxing moments, to travel their best should be blue lines
if you like more hip hop sounds.
i would also have some beatles near, to change a little
(they sound great in a car)
o man i would love to hear "spectrum" by quannum
(blackalicius, latryx, dj shadow) great experimental hip
hop... very funky too... great for the car surely... and
well some radiohead shall work

yeah i will definately have the Beatles "RED" and "BLUE"
albums....Definately some Radiohead...live perhaps.........
I HAVE to have BOC....

I didnt include PLAID in the trinity, but they will be in
the lineup.....I think I will have Restproof Clockwork
w/me....

I hate driving solo for long periods....

be carefull with the phone (movile) dont talk whilst
driving, we want you back (i say this because as you will
go alone.. its normal that you would like to talk to
somebody and have some conversation)

as crazy as it may sound in this day and age....
I still have not got myself a cell phone....

I despise them......

I guess the ONLY reason would be for emergencies....
I just wish there was something to do while driving to make
time fly faster.....

I guess travelling solo does not help...=)

A really great driving album would be "Let it Be" by the
Beatles on our way home is really track when your driving
home from somewhere a little hung-over.

I am learning to drive at the moment (my test is on the 21st
of March) so I can't talk from experience. Mind you, I will
be doing a lot of driving in my new job so I'll post some
stuff in a few months time ;)

by the way lando (aka ironlung):
i know you love boards of canada, so i fear for myself
knowing what i am going to say now.....:
dont you think they are more than a bit lazy???
i mean they have very few releases... and dont tell me they
are newer than aphex... look how many releases has
squarepusher made since 1998...

No way....I totally LOVE discussing BOC.....Your opinions
are greatly welcomed....

I do not think they should be called lazy.
I care to look at it as something totally worth waiting for.
It reminds me of the old Pink Floyd releases and how one
would come out, and than another a few years later and just
blow people away....

I seem to find myself, to this day, still heraing things on
MHTRTC that I didnt hear before or that rekindle my love.
BOc's albums remind me of a goood novel....never wanna put
it down and you get something new from it each new time...

Extreme's classic concept album Three Sides To Every Story
is a must. Its long, rocks and finishes with a three song
set that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster.

Cheesy poodle rock that I am ashamed to say I liked as a
pre-pubescent rock fan. Hey, I was finding my feet!

my favs from lateralis are: the grudge (most innovative),
ticks and leeches (loudest most horrible screaming maynard
ever did and will do), lateralus (the ending i thought for a
while was the best thing i'd ever heard), disposition
(beautiful bass (:delay)) and reflection (nothing original
but nice atmospere, like the ending guitar the best, and the
intro)

they were Glam metal, there was old site many years ago

no, that's probably trent reznor again, he IS a racist (no
not really, just like stirring it up again), anyway: i think
one minute alone is a very good metal song, still think the
old sepultura is better, that too we covered like crazy: we
got halfway through chaos ad and did straight*fucking*hate,
one if these songs with the tribe was a hymn for my brother
and me when we were driving through america on holiday once:
we were singing, or whatever you'd like to call it, in the
car all the time, that was funny
