i just got back from the spiritual unity (marc ribot) & henry grimes gig..these guys are fantastic!! i could listen to them for hours and not get bored of it..there are certain moments when ribot on guitar and campbell on trumpet do divine stuff together..and the thick sound they can produce is just amazing..there are some not so good moments when they slow it down although im sure they need a bit of a brake between the intense parts which are definitely best music parts i've ever heard anyone play live. i just love the sound of ribot's guitar!! oh :) |

there's only 4 really..they flew from tokyo to here only for this gig and then they're going back home so it should be splendid..and they're all among the best contemporary japanese musicians..im especially looking forward to michiyo yagi on that special koto and masahiko satoh on piano. |
