We set up and played. I had a bright yellow rain poncho on and my friend wore a ninja mask. Their ignorant "sound guy" told us at the last minute that the board was set up in mono. This was the source of all our problems. Everything was coming out of the left channel, but we thought it was funny so we played for about 10 minutes like that. Finally, we got it set right and we then decided to replay two or three songs that we did, but this time with all the sounds. At some point, one of us accidentally tripped over the power supply to the computer, which made the audience laugh hysterically. After some more tunes, we stopped for about five minutes to hand out "gifts from PHVKKAGE" which included a broken turntable mixer, CD-R copies of various records, The Killer Instict soundtrack and an unsigned birthday card. "The Rud" makes all of its profit from the bar -- they give all the door money to the bands. This is a pretty nice gesture. Unfortunately, we can't help it if people don't want to get sloshed while listening to PHVKKAGE. One of the owners said that people were "weirded out and just staring into space, not drinking," and that we were "highly unorganized." From where we were standing, it looked like people were laughing and having, at the very least, an decent time. One of my friends just tried to set up another show with us on the bill and they told him that we couldn't play there again unless we drew in a drinking crowd that would make them at least $1,500 in one night. That would never happen. |

Oh, and there is a poorly recorded video of the set, but it's choppy and the person who recorded it decide to use some slow motion/blur effect on the whole thing. It's basically worthless, you can't see anything. |
