when i first discovered warp, i bought 'pioneers of the
hypnotic groove' expecting them to be drukqs-quality
tracks....

:(

A. They haven't "aged badly". LFO, Tricky Disco, Nightmares
on Wax, Tomas "Mind Song", "Hey Hey Can U Relate"... have
you actually listened to the fucking tracks without thinking
"Where are the mad beats and abstract melodies"?

B. Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove was released 10 years
before Drukqs, how or why the fuck is it going to sound like
Drukqs? Or what is Drukqs quality - 1 good track to 5
fillers?

C. You're ignorant.

C. i was ignorant

i bought it like a day after buying druqks, i knew nothing
of warp records or much about music at all at that point,
and wrongly assumed that if aphex is on warp, then all warp
artists would sound similar...plus i didnt realise the album
was 10 years old when i bought it, and that is a long time
for experimental music more than any other genre...

btw i do still listen to 'pioneers...' now that ive got used
to it.
