bsbsbs use a private ftp or something you can control. If it's on a public msb board, it's freeforall. Unless, like I said, he specifically says "don't hotlink my fucking bandwidth"..duh. |

i once had some fucker link to an mp3 that i had put on a very small forum. it was a track from the radio before an album was released. not only that but he set the mp3 (as a direct link off my server) as the background music on his fucking webpage (how lame is that?!?) so after i figured it out i replaced the ~7mb mp3 with a 200k mp3 that was nothing but like a minute of the loudest, high pitched screeching noises i could create. i hope it damaged every one of his visitors speakers before he took it down. he took it down pretty quick though. |

same thing with people who hotlink images you wouldnt think a 500k jpg would do much, right , right? throw it on a few of the biggest message boards around with 1000 views per minute yeah, it adds up real fast. not like you cant just change the image to goatse tho, tubgirl, or my favorite ... lemon party! it's still wrong, and should be "common-courtsey" by now. and if you disagree and thin the internet is a "anything-goes" type place? well , keep on hotlinking the more you hotlink, the less files and links yre gonna see on the message boards, get my drift? |
