Sousleek Room; Computer Musicians

Kay. Spamming once more. I am going to be bumping this
daily for the next week untill enough people see it or are
reminded (unless a mod complains or something).

The name has changed, but its still the same, and I am not
getting a very good showout from the last spam I did. (with
the exception of gl0tch and obara who have been very good
sports :) ).

I want to start a small community baised around the
discussion and trading of computer music production tools
and ideas. I would like it to branch into (idealy) smaller
audio collectives and a possible weblabel (with the
intention of becoming an independant label).

Anyways, the name is Computer Musicians. Not only is this
for people who are well versed in music production, but
people who are trying to learn, where they could maybe
message other people, or ask people questions about what
they might need help with. As well as giving people
links to important music software and sch.

Kay. Soulseek doesn't work. I am going to be delaying the
time I'm going to stop bumping this thread to compensate for
the current state of soulseek.

I see you posting a lot about music production etc. but I
don't recall ever hearing any of you work, how about hitting
me up with a link? :)

Yeah... when I am finished with something I am happy and
proud of, I will spam everybody untill they want to kill
me...

I used to spam alot, with a lot of unfinished music... I
want to stay away from that... go at it more honestly.

If I could find copies of the last album I made, I
definately will. All the sounds that I have used to make it
are misorganized, and the flp and reason files that are the
songs are on another drive, so it doesnt make sence to try
to rerender them.

Anyways untill then, its just me talking about music and not
spamming. Sorry if that seems like a lame excuse, but thats
the way I want to keep it. It makes me seem more reclusive
and mysterious, anyway. :)

offline ecnadniarb on 2005-04-11 14:04 [#01561865]
Points: 24805 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

No it makes you seem like a gobshite who isn't willing to
put his money were his mouth is rather than a reclusive
mysterious musics maker.

I would still be interested in hearing some stuff whenever
you are ready though :P

Heh... cheers. I understand that it seems that way. I don't
like spam because its tasteless, and most people don't
really want to see it. Expecially when the songs are
incomplete.

I never say I am any good, or that I am better than them. I
usually tell people what I honestly think about their music,
and where they could make improvements. If I were to brag or
diss someone without it being warranted, then I would find
myself obligated to "put my money where my mouth is". I just
speak my mind normally.

I answered it... I sent you an offline answer. Their is a
lowpass filter available through waves called the LFE360-
degrees Low-Pass filter

List of waves plugins

Although most of waves stuff is meant for mastering, they
have some beautifull effects. The enigma sounds very
distinctive, yet manages to avoid sounding hollow (which can
be difficult for a software phaser).

They are just me fucking around in reason for a few minutes
each. They are about 7 months old, although the zelda remix
is still totally hot. Their unmastered.

Pretty much anything waves makes is trustworthy. It depends
on whether or not you want to go about it legitimately (they
are crazy expensive, so really only approachable by
professional sound designers and studios/schools) or
illegally (awesome tools well worth the bandwidth, install
and time to get accustomed to).

Bump.

I am working on some plans for a future sound collective
baised off of like minded people from the internet. Ideas I
have include a parent collective filled with smaller sects
or crews of people working on similar music (aka, a crew of
people that work on mostly industrial beats, people who work
on dub, drill n bass, etc). What I have in mind, is getting
people who like to work in more than one style, so they can
intercollaberate with the different sects. I want a mild
organization of people, without making it anal and
constrictive. A couple guidlines like this can give people
guidance and help foster the creative process. Too many
rules hold people back.

I would also like to start a message board that is dedicated
to discussion of music and music production. Mostly a place
where people can go for advice on stuff, discussion about
music and also members can spam their stuff (using soulseek
as the place that one would go to download the music, and
the room as a place for conversation).

BTW, I talked to a friend of mine who has a copy of my last
'album'. I lost it a year or so back when I was homeless, so
this will have been my first chance to hear it in over a
year :) I will be posting some mp3's up in soulseek in about
a week (for those of you that have been pressuring me to
show them what my music sounds like).

Yeah... if you want thats your choice. I kind of want to
base a small community though. WATMM is too big. And I don't
want it to be focused on IDM (or whatever you want to call
it).

IDM is a fashion music. Its supposed to be a cutting edge
accessory for people to flout, but its not even cutting edge
(or relevant) anymore.
