dude, I wouldnt want to run Fruity on Virtual PC.. That would be retarded. I'm not sure it would even be worth it if you were running Fruity through VPC on a Dual 2+ GHz G5 with over 2 GB of ram.
too many latancies going on there to be worth it.

i mean ibooks are so fuckin cute...
i just cannot allow myself to change my software now - fruityloops is to good - but for the fact that i might change it in 2 years maybe... who knows - that's why i want to emulate it...
but how is the performance ?

for stuff that doesn't require real-time editing, it's not too bad
but for something like FruityLoops it's totally unusable.
I use it for CoagulaLight (since MetaSynth for Mac OS X is WAY too fucking expensive and uncrackable at the moment)
:(

oh and Virtual PC does seem to be the best x86 emulator for the Mac
the others are slower and a bit more difficult to use, not to mention they don't have as many features as Virtual PC.
it's still a shame Microsoft had to go buy Connectix out

definately.
performance is terrible. real time audio software is a total no go....you could get away with soundforge possibly. I'm on a 1.5gig powerbook with 1.5gig RAM running virtual PC 6 with windows 2000 and even browsing between windows is sluggish.
BTW. you can run older versions of metasynth in OSX classic, but it's a bit buggy: if that helps. slsk might have it.

i don't have Classic installed on my machine - i haven't used it for ages, and haven't needed to.
I'm running VPC 7 on a 1.5GHz G4 with 1GB RAM and I have pretty much every version of Windows running on here.
I've tweaked the hell out of Windows 2000, and Windows XP Pro and I've got them both running at reasonable speeds.
If you can get hold of a program called XPLite, you can tweak it even more and get it to run a bit faster.

Okay... Performance isn't that bad in Virtual PC. You could probably use Fruity Loops. But like. That'd be a waste of time, just like Fruity Loops.
Invest some time in learning a more serious program like Reason or Digital Performer or Reason or Reason :)
As for "original soft on macs", I presume this is a question as to whether or not software can be pirated on Macs. It can be of course.
Hope this helps, John

I wouldn't suggest reason as a serious alternative to floops, unless you are making progressive house or techno or something along those lines. The sound design potential of fruityloops is exponentially higher than that of reason, although reason is exponentially more well designed a program than fruityloops.
I would suggest cubase as an alternative to either programs. If you insist on getting a mac, which I would advise against, get cubase running on it. Its not that much of a leap from fruityloops, but allows you so much more. Although it doesn't have the fomula controller (which I think should be in everything).
