Most embarrassing cds

What cds do you not let other people know you own?

I own a Little Bowwow CD, a Juvenile CD, and the Prince of
Egypt soundtrack (all gifts). Cd's that i have bought are
Matchbox 20's Yourself or Someone Like You and
Fischerspooner's #1(though I do like 'ersatz'). I get made
fun of for owning enya cd's more than anything, but am not
embarrassed because I like her.

Ah, I feel much better now.

because every verse is followed by "ha"

i will admit though, those are some fucking phat beats on

I'm not embarrassed about anything I own music wise,
although I have had moronic delinquents come visit and ask
why I own soundtracks like crouching tiger, hidden dragon or
any anime/rpg soundtrack for that matter..
Since I do however conform a bit to fit into larger groups
at parties I host I find it very hard to pick an album
everyone would enjoy, usually it resorts to the queen of the
damned soundtrack or something depressingly angsty like
that.

Creed- My Own Prison is just about the only one I'm
mortified about, but in my defense, I never really listened

they do now. I bought it for the Sundaymorningbangin'mahhead

i had some that i found embarassing, but i somehow got rid
of them. and it was long ago, when i only knew something
like 10 bands, and just listened to what i knew.

if you want to know the cds that are in my drawer instead
than on my shelves:

• peter gabriel - secret world live (not because i hate
it, i like peter gabriel, but because the cds are all
scratched and the box completely destroyed -_- (and i
listened to it too much also.))

• boards of canada - geogaddi

• add n to (x) - loud like nature (not that bad... but not
that good either.)

• guns 'n roses - appetite for destruction (well... i'm
past that now... i don't listen to it anymore.)

• venetian snares - higgins ultra low glue funk tracks
1972-2006 (i really could throw this one out of the window
or smash it with a hammer, i don't think i would regret it.
i used the case to replace a broken cd case i had.)

and if i start to lack space on my shelves again, next one
in the drawer will be ep7.

well 100th window is pretty weak imo compared to their 2
first albums, pretty boring too ; OK computer bores me too,
maybe it's good, i dunno but i really don't take any
pleasure listening to it ; and barb4ry is just weak too

reasons why geogaddi is in my drawer and not listened to
anymore?

it sounds lukewarm and artificial. they seem too shy (or not
caring enough?) to go anywhere, it's not ambient but it
doesn't have any vitality either. it's not
mechanical/technical/cold (like Autechre for example), but
not hot or even warm enough to express any real feelings
either; they seem to restrain themselves from expressing
their emotions too much. or to digitalize/make artificial
copies of the few emotions they have. it's as annoying as
hearing someone wanting to sing but shying away and humming
along instead... the structure of the album is also
annoying; not only the music is always staying in that
lukewarm limbo, and always in the same style (which gets
boring after a few tracks), but that "short tracks
in-between the long tracks" structure makes it even worse.
the long tracks are okay on their own, or even nice, but
then you have half-assed short tracks in-between that
doesn't seem to have any purpose at all except to keep the
listener waiting. interludes like that can work, if the long
tracks in-between are strong. like in ænima by tool for
example. weird interludes between killer tracks. in
geogaddi, it doesn't work - there are no changes in
style, or maybe the short tracks are usually a bit more
falsely childish/naive, which i just hate - anyway there are
no strong moments. and then there are these stupid, totally
gratuitous, references to children and satanism and branch
davidians or whatever - just to make it seem falsely
"disturbing". it's just make-up to me. and pretending there
is some special frequency hidden in "magic window" that is
not silence is just hypocrisy/pulling the legs/insulting the
intelligence of the listeners. - now some tracks on it are
nice indeed, but a lot of other bands out there make
soothing music that's much better.

and what irritates me to death is how people on this board
seem to love it so much, overpraising them like they were
the new music messiahs... i swear, just seeing "BoC"
somewhere makes me cringe now (like some of you would with
"Linkin Park" or "Usher" or whatever crap they're airing at
the radio nowadays).

that's all. only my personal opinions, ok. : )
