it's not the trip-hop as it should be. it's more to easy
listening.
i like it. good for some type of mood, like i have now.

it's also like that blue states 'man mountain' album from
time to time. by general feeling.

this is Broadcasts best release ever!
they manage to create modern music with a nostalgic touch
and of course Trish her voice contribute to that

I saw them live about 4 years ago and when the fabulous show
was over and Broadcast dissapeared behind the stage a guy
from the audience jumped on stage and grabbed their music
sheets, dunno what was on it, perhaps the order in which
they were playing the songs, I wonder if he still got the
sheets...

Matvey: why shouldn´t this be a Warp release?

cause it's so calm, nice, easy..
it was a kind of joke. i know that warp release some
non-experimental stuffers to show their mild side.

..and i quite liked this Broadcast album. I got this one and

for a long time.

"non-experimental"
I thought they were a little bit, because they combine
electronic samples/intruments with "ordinary"
trip-hop/hip-hop

yeah, a little bit, of course.
they are nice even if absolutely non-experimental.
Beautiful female voice should be enough:)

I love everything Broadcast does. Although I do find it
strange that almost all of their songs would fit nicely on
the soundtrack to a Wes Anderson film. :)

"stop looking for answers in everyone's face....come on
let's go....and what's the point in wasting time....of
people that you'll never know...come on let's go..."

- one of the most optimistic songs for me. and great vocal,
too.

This is not trip-hop at all. Broadcast are awesome. Trip-hop
is not.

I would'nt call broadcast trip hop.......would you call
stereolab trip hop?

i think broadcast have more in common with stereolab than
portishead, morcheba, etc.......

i have not heard this one, but i love Ha Ha Sound... the
impression that i get from what i've read about it is that
it's a bit more buried in the mix... a bit more dreamy and
ambient-like...?

I like Ha Ha Sound better, much better production,
yes. The style on this one is more or less the same, though,
and there are some Grate Songs.

offline deepspace9mm from filth on 2005-04-25 18:28 [#01576851]

Ohh, i kind of like the crap-ish production. It makes it
sound old or something, like a band from the 60s that
didn't do very well but all the coolest people like them.

And there was probably a sad story behind the band, like
there was a torrid love affair that ended in somebody being
really sad and dying or something.

I don't know where i'm going with this.

Well the production on Ha Ha Sound is still lo-fi but
it's like a better lo-fi ghrtdtr

I will stand up tall like a Man, and admit that i haven't
heard ha ha sound.

My shame.
