there was a short history of music on tv recently. they
played a few seconds of ancient greek music. the composition
was supposed to follow the mathematical cosmic order. the
music sounded interesting. mysterious etc. you dont know
about such music dont you? i want to listen to it, but i
dont know Names and what to look for.

i once had a cd of ancient greek music, based on musical
notations in some ancient text and performed with
reconstructions of ancient instruments. It was frigging ace,
but i lost it. It started with a discordant crashing of all
the instruments - cymbals, gongs, plucks etc, then moved
into strange 7 note melodies, quite insane and beautiful

I really want to get into ancient music and get hold of some
old instruments too. It's a direction I feel led to.

At the moment I'm enjoying old Church music quite a bit.
Very dark and mysterious, and sometimes very uplifting.

and your name shall be...pre-historilord

all kidding aside, i see what you're saying, the entire
reason i like all or most of this music that drew us to this
site was because it has close ties to the things you speak
of...
