dont use alarms. i think i set the alarm on whatever device
maybe 10 times a year, usually on the loudest most annoying
beep it stocks.

im a sucker for sleep, if i dont sleep like.. 8 or 9 hours i
get grumpy. i HATE waking up abruptly

i hate that to, but some times i have to get up at a certain
time. then i use the laptop connected to my stereo at a very
loud volume and use "planned tasks" in xp control panel. i
couple of days ago i planned waking up to analord 2. when
it's really important that i get up, i use som freaky kid606
tracks at insane volume.

I use the FM radio first, then a standard cell phone alarm
sound to go off 10 mins later. I will fall back asleep
otherwise.

you should try setting your alarm clock 1 hour before you
want to wake up, with the radio on softly so you wont wake
up abruptly. when you wake up, go back to sleep

its so satisfying

i set my alarm clock radio to be an awful staticky mess
really really loudly, and then i set my cell phone as well
(beep beep). i used to have 3 alarms, with one of them
across the room so i would HAVE to get up to turn it off. i
am a really really heavy sleeper; it sucks.

know what you mean.....my wake-up rituals have become more
and more complex over the years. I once used to be able to
wake up with a single alarm clock radio, not even very loud.
but today I have to set the hi-fi, then the phone and press
the snooze on that as well 1 time.

i dont need an alarm, if i think about what time to get up
before i go to bed and i automatically wake up at that time
(10 mins later or earlyer sometimes)

this is only when i sleep at home though, when im in my
girlfriends bed that's impossible, she has one of those
ultra fluffy extra large bed with big heavy warm fat
sheets... once i get to bed in that one i usually sleep for
10 hours or more and wake up with an headache, horrible as i
prefer sleeping 6 or 7 hours a night.

My younger brother got an very cool "wake up watch" for
christmass though, one of those old school gold colored
round things that has the most annoying (natural) ringing
sound ever, im planning to record it in the near future
yes!

My phone. It goes (with vibration noises too i might add):

bip

...

bippidy vrrrrrrr

...

bippp bippi (vrrrrrr)bip
bippp bippi (vrrrrrr)bip

By which time i've either turned it off or stuck it on
snooze. A fascinating insight, i think you'll all agree.

mine starts off soft but then goes really fucking loud

the first time i heard it i thought i had been woken up by a
truck driving backwards (beep beep beep) and then i jumped
out of bed cause i think it was going to crush me (BEEP BEEP
BEEP)

i can also set it for two times, mine's at 7:30 and 8 am so
that i can sleep in but not miss the bus

my alarm clock is half-broken now. the tone is all
distorted. if it made any sound other than an alarm clock
sound, i would probably think that was cool. but i can't
stand the sound of alarm clocks - awful.

also, this thread somehow inspired a decidedly goldbergian
alarm clock which i have drawn on paper.

the secret is getting a boyfriend or girlfriend who is a
light sleeper to share a bed with.

A really loud and annoying one than I just push the snooze
button again and again and don´t even remember doing it,
and wake up too late for school. So sometimes I use a cell
phone as well.
That sound it makes is so annoying when I´ve woken up but
don´t bother to get out of bed yet, then it goes off again
and you jump up and smash the alarm so it will stop this
horrible sounds of evil.

my cell phone (beep beep + vibrations) I set it half an hour
before I have to get up and snooze it 3 times, or else I
won´t wake up

my phone is next to me on the bed which is hollow, so the
vibrations gets really loud!
