From Digg.com By disabling IPv6 in Firefox, you can make a noticeable speed-up while rendering pages. This is because almost every website still uses IPv4. Simply set Network.dns.disableIPv6 to true.
To get to this setting, type "about:config" in the address field (w/o quotes)
I don't know who uses IPv6 yet, but I'm sure this tweak needs to be turned off (or on, however you look at it) when IPv6 is fully implemented.
It appears to work, so far...

They actually sent me all the CD's I requested... about 8 total
No live version for PPC or AMD64 though It recognised every component, and even set up my connection for me. The only thing that doesn't work is my Logitech custom button on me mouse.
Check it!

The only thing that doesn't work is my Logitech custom button on me mouse.

orrr its my fucking hangover, sorry. edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 with
sudo emacs /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
i think you can give the config thing for the mouse a parameter to change the resolution and refresh rate too but im not too sure. cant you change the resolution at 'display properties'?

by the way here's a question for you, im sure you know this. im on a ~500 mhz laptop with win98 se installed, the thing has a 20 gb harddisk, win98 is on the only, 20 gb partition. is it possible to convert some free space within this partition to a 2nd partition to boot ubunbtu from?
i want to toy with linux on this thing as well but i dont want to use my win98 install

I know, when I get on here I turn into Mr. British accent. I find it more playful in a way, just so "street" haha The Logitech button is below the scroll wheel. In Windows, it requires software for the OS to utilize it.No biggie though, I just had it set as a shortcut to go "back" in a browser/explorer window.
Damn, I must be blind, I found the rez changer. It won't play any music or vids... this live thing is really limited.
Won't recognise my CD burner drive either. .. The boot thing is possible. Think "boot managers". Ubuntu seems to come with Grub. I don't know which is better, between Lilo and that.... ooh check out what I found while Googling
Windows writing over Linux ..strange. Make Grub your boot manager If you want, make just a boot disk To get your MBR back to original state (like a default Windows install), type: fdisk /mbr
