Here You Go
I don't know if this has been posted before, but i think its a good insight into his way of working. He is awesome in my opinion, original, funky and fresh. I think he is the best asset Warp has and I can't wait for his new album to drop.. 'The City' rocks my world! Bo!

There's a great gig and interview titled "Jamie Lidell @ Maria Am Ufer 03-07-2003" making the rounds on slsk, well worth checking out.. Jamie's being interviewed on some German tv station, completely off his head, and the girl interviewing is having a somewhat hard time keeping him in check. Good gig too.

qrter - yes I believe it will be on this album, although I just saw the date on the interview, 2003! It's been a long time coming.
Sire - I will have a listen to that, sounds cool. If you havent already got it, try the live set from sinfonietta gig last year, there are some excellent tracks on there including 'the city'. His live sound is amazing, looping and layering his own voice then mangling it, it seems a bit more skill than playing off a laptop.

"People call me a fucking techno Bob McFerrin or something, and I don't mind because I like Bob McFerrin."

KADO - I've been really impressed with his live sets.. His live style seems to have the ideology of a hip hop dj or something, really freeform and 'manual' rather than sequenced.
Mugison do a lot of live sampling as well, although not necessarily as impressively as Lidell. Mugison's gig at Sonar 04 involved a lot of sounds sampled live, cut, looped and layered. Worth checking out

Musically Mugison has a different approach though so be warned.. More song/voice orientated (at least live, haven't heard any of his releases)

Muddlin Gear is coolest mindfuck WARP album ever... seems like the new stuff will be a bit... you know... conventional and dull... pretty disappointing... the second Super Collider was rather ordinary too...
sigh
