Its alright but it doesn't stand alone, it would have to be
a backing loop to a more solid kick-snare beat I think.

erhm, that jungle track you posted here just a couple of
days ago, the one based on a tv countdown thing with loads
of silly voices and breaks.

I thought your breaks there sounded completely exellently
mixed, did you "make" that break ? i mean did you take some
half crappy old break and made it that shiny and nice
sounding ? or was it perhaps from a high quality sample cd
with loads of allready mixed breaks ?

I dunno, i often find myself struggling allot with old
breaks trying to make them more powerfull, shiny and simply
better sounding.

Got any advices or tips you want to share ? becouse i
remember being suprised over how fresh your breaks sounded

Well thank you. I basically just took a 192kbps mp3 of Amen
Brother and cut the break out. Then I cutted and pasted for
a long time, upped the pitch a little and fiddled with the
high pass and low pass filters to clean up a little bit of
background noise. But essentially I didn't do much to the
original amen break apart from rearrange it.

ah allright, well.. it sounds nice =D

i have not yet come across an very high quality sounding
amen that have been free to "use" i like the original but i
only got it in quite an worthless 128kbps quality (should
sample the original Yes!)

finding good amens on samples cd's is a bitch imo, many of
the buyable loops and one shots are allready so got damned
compressed or fx'ed.. i cant work with material that isnt
raw if you know what i mean.. theres nothing worse then two
tons of flanger fx on an otherwise great sounding break.

hmm, unsure if i should be a bastard enough to ask but if
you would like (to be nice) you could send me that break in
highest possible quality =/
I dont wanna ask becouse i feel like an ass but if you
wouldnt mind.

Or perhaps if you feel lazy, you could let me sample your
tracks break ? noo im not planning to rip of your style or
anything, i would totally rearange and change things.. im
just on a lookout for an high (higher) quality amen.

I feel bad for asking (im sort of raised that way) so if you
find my beging offensive then please forgive and ignore

I've been trying to get some decent jungle snare sounds for
a while. Like you said, it's bloody hard to find a decent
one. Even in tracks they usually sound all muffled. I must
be listening to the wrong stuff.

i agree that some jungle breaks sounds crap even in finished
"professional" material..

take remarc for example, the amens on his soundmurdurer
sounds like crap imo.. really annoying.

But on the other hand take a track like tundra or even
better tundra 4 the amens there sounds exellent.

Yeh. Like yourself though, I would love a break with nothing
behind it.

i have listened to Loki for about 8 times in a row now, it
very sweet, im very tired at the moment so i cant focus on
it much but it floats very well in the begining.

Im sorry im too tired to give any constructive critisism or
anything but i can say that i think it sounds good and that
i enjoy it, will listne to it tomorrow morning while eating
breakfast and browsing xltronic too, hopefully i can focus
better then.

Well it seems you've been sorted but I'll gladly send you
the break if you need it.

Other breaks need more work to get that 'oomph' as Recycle
calls it but personally I don't have a problem with heavy
amen abuse so I reccomend playing with Amen shit until you
know it like the back of you hand; it's a benchmark.
