chill analog shit, very short). [ogg]

do it a hundred times.

Evening mister. Post if you find out because I would love to
hear a longer version if there is one, or some other music
by the same person if indeed they have made full albums.

Actually I have been listening to it on repeat and it gets
better with every listen. It's brilliant.

Hi. It's Susumu Hirasawa; woulda replied a minute ago but
browser crashed on one of the sites.. anyway the samples I
heard were maybe kinda interesting/creative but rather
crap-sounding. baaaaaaah

fuck I'm glad you like it; it's the ending track for this
one 13-episode series, and I got goose bumps the first time
I heard it. really really really great. Here is a link to the soundtrack information
which I depended on for his name.

#Ah well, this little peice is fucking ace. It reminds me
of so many things, unmistakably Japanese, the voice thing
made me think "Taito" the first time I heard it. It's
RPGish, warm, sad...it's fucking awesome.

ahahaha

yeah I like how the voice is a dissonance.. the main synth
(I guess it's 3/4 time, it has 16ths for the last beat and
eights for the others, arpeggiating) sounds really rich, the
strings are nice and ethereal.. yeah, fuck

this is one of my all-time favourite tracks. this guy has
been making music since the seventies and has dabbled in
just about every cheesy electronic-pop style. i'm working on
a 'greatest hits' rar of my favourite tracks and will post
it here when i'm done.

i think it's called maromi no theme. it's the end credits
song, when everyone is sleeping on the grass.

Ah yes, I remember. It's lovely!

I actually like the intro song too.. it doesn't make any
sense!

Does anyone have the whole track for sharing?

the intro song is done by the same guy, susumu hirasawa.
he's one of my favourite vocalists. that song in the paprika
topic was by him as well. i have his entire 60 album
discography (in mp3 form) but sadly i don't have access to
it here. but finding that song shouldn't be hard at all.

offline sneakattack on 2007-07-09 15:10 [#02101358]
Points: 6049 Status: Lurker

one unfortunate, and extremely grating thing about the track
is all the samples are not lined up very well; they hit
slightly off. I wouldn't say it was intentional, because
the offset is fixed (ie, it's not some 'organic' kind of
disorder).

If you haven't noticed it, sorry if I just ruined the song.

It's kinda neat being consistent about the image, gives a
sort of familiar presence. And I don't come enough to
really... well, care.

Also, when I don't have premium membership, it let's me keep

I've liked it for many years. All the characters are
sleeping to it; you can consider it a lullaby. Very
soothing sounds. Try not to listen for the bad timing I
mentioned above, it'll really drive you crazy. I can't be
more specific since I haven't listen to it in more than 4
months, partially due to that problem..

I have really accurate headphones, that'll magnify the
problem..

I don't think the samples are off. I think that it's just
the attack on the synth patches are deliberately layered. I
quite like the effect even though it is quite pronounced.

really? hmm. If I remember correctly, it's a synth and a
flute playing the same pitches, and timed way off. Always
sounded jarring.

I'm stupidly anal, judgmental, and closed-minded, though.

The timing stuff works great for the song.. it makes it
drowsy. It's a pretty common thing.. you just offset some
sounds so that they start a bit after the other sounds, and
you get a slower feel to the track...

I haven't watched anime in years, and just came back from
seeing paprika. It might be the best film I've ever seen
(anime or non). And the same fucking guy did the music, and
he did an even better job. I'll put some samples up later
tonight. It was pretty clearly him..

oh for reference, paprika has the same director (satashi

hmm, they don't sound as good as they did in the film.. if
you see the movie I'm sure you'll like them a lot too,
though they are not as sublime as the above track.. oh well,
I fail

theme music, of sorts

creep incidental music

they also worked together for millennium actress. i'm still
working on my greatest hits rar of susumu hirasawa's music,
like i said before. it's taking a very long time, though,
but it'll be worth it. watch this space! so far i picked out
10 songs from his former band p-model and will start sifting
through his solo material.
