Reaktor 4 vs Live 4

When using Reaktor 4 as a vst plugin in Ableton Live 4, I
can send midi messages to Reaktor but the sound is all
garbled and choppy. Has anyone had similar problems when
using Reaktor 4 as a vst plugin with live or cubase?

(I can't get it to work properly in cubase sx 2. Other
plugins work find in sx, so I'm guessing maybe Reaktor 4 is
the problem)

Aide moi!

In cubase, make sure the Reaktor instrument is receiving on
the same channel the midi track is sending on. If you
already have another midi track sending to another vsti
destination and you create a new midi track, by default the
channel increases by one. Freaked me out the first time this
happened. In Reaktor you can change the instrument to
receive on a different midi channel, or change it to 1 on
the midi track.

Also make sure you're using the right Reaktor plugin -
sometimes there's one in a submenu when you load up the vsti
in the rack. I forget which one works.

I don't know live very well but maybe there's a sampling
rate mismatch? Driver problem?

I will try adjusting the midi settings inside Reaktor, I
hope that works.

I'll also check out the samplerate when used in live.

Muchos gracias.

I used to have the same problem in fruityloops when I would
use reaktor in it.

Did you try setting the sample rate in reaktor back to
44100? Cause sometimes the host programs will open it at
22050...

go to ableton.com and login into the forums - i read there a
lot about issues between live and reaktor so you should
check it out !

reaktor can eat a lot of cpu. A Lot... might have something
to do with that?
