I have no idea what makes the one candidate better than the
other, but I'm glad that the majority of voters (at least it
seems) got the candidate they wanted.

I hope they didn't vote for the guy who used to be handsome
and therefore good but is now ugly and therefore evil.

they are both ukrainians, although US administration
supported janukovic i think - i made a mistake
above..yuschenko (the poisoned one who won apperantly) was
the candidate russians supported..

Seems they've found the transport minister shot dead.
Possible suicide.

i just checked:
yanukovich - supported by the russians
yuschenko - supported by US

i bet the outcome of these election was so close coz people
thought they were voting for the same guy :)

i'll bet that undead zombie guy hired some of the bush team
to help him rig the election his way this time.

that's how he won it.

well, the fact that both candidates' surnames begin with 'Y'
in english doesn't mean people didn't know who they were
voting for! :P

parlament elections, at least here...you get to vote for
sds, lds, zlsd, sls, sns,...i bet many don't know who they
vote for :)

wow, look what thread i've just found!

sheddin' teh light now (I doubt that I got some):

1)
it is said to be that Yuschenko is supported by US gov
it is said to be that Yanoukovich is supported by Russian
gov

I don't know if some of them can make something good for the
country, as well as something bad. Well, doing something bad
is always easier than something good, so whoever wins will
make bad in different ways, 90% sure. It already sucks here,
but yesterday one Zapatista woman who came to Kiev said that
it will be even worse in two or three years, cause (she
said) that Europe and US want Ukraine as cheap labour source
and this kind of things. She didn't understand why a lot of
people are very much against Yanoukovich and Russia.
People here were being inclined to bad thoughts about Russia
since the USSR breakup by the media.

Personally I think both figures of Yuschenko and Yanoukovich
are results of an extremely impudent PR (in case of
Yanoukovich PR was mainly "black" and originated in
Yuschenko headquarters), and don't have "truth behind them".
I didn't vote (for several reasons). My close friends also
didn't.

2) crowd photos (if interesting):
1
2
3
4

3) some funny shit (by me):
1 - one letter added into the slogan, now it
means "tank!"
2

4) i don't get this situation well, btw. I don't care,
except hating it a little.

yeah, Kirpa has been found with a hole in his head yesterday
morning. Strange political figure he was - at the beginning
he seemed to support Yanoukovich, later he seemed to change
his mind, later he caught a bullet in his head.

Possible suicide, probably not. Average mortals didn't
expect his death.
