I just heard on the news that "they" cloned a cat for this lady who couldn't live without him. The cat died after 12 years of happy living.
It cost her 50000$ To bring him back to life...
If they can do that now... God knows what they will be able to do in 10 to 20 years time.

Good on them. I hope they can clone everything one day.

i know, i saw it on the news the otherday. Not funny when you thing about what they can and probably WILL do. Im not so sure about "imlanting chips conspiracies" but i read in the newspaper that in a town some where (i forget where i think in california) they've started making the students wear little GPS bands so the schools (i think its more than the school system) can know where they are after school to see if they arrived home.
im done

That woman is stupid as the cat won't be the same mentally. Plus it's kinda sick. The original cat must be turning in it's shallow kitty grave!

i read that too. someday my dogs will day and i surely wont expend 50000 on clones.
clones are just phisically similar, they dont have same personality

argh!!! Nooo... This is horrible. It's playing God. and it will unavoidably be used for "bad" purposes.
Like armies of top class human beings for the job for example.
I don't think that we want that.
It's just like Einstein's formula for Braking Atoms. Great creation.
'cause we can have a good source of energy. But then... It created the atomic bomb.
Well... It's not exactly the same thing. But similar in some ways.

Kids should be gentically modified not to be twats, but I think that will never be possible. Perhaps as a fallback teachers could be genetically modified to give electric shocks.

People should be cloned to have penises and vaginas and no fallopian tubes. Then we'll see which losers go and kill themselves because they cant start a family while the rest of us live in a sexual paradise.

I think is a good thing.
Ripping some stupid woman off for $50,000, that is. If I had thought of a scam where I found stray kittens and sold them to stupid rich women under the company name Genetic Savings and Clone first, then I would have. Too bad its already been done.
I think cloning is a good things too.

HaHa... if only it happened that way. Would have been nice.
No cloning. Just a lie. . . And give half of the earnings to poor people. Like Robin Hood.. :D

it just seems like the potential for abuse is massive... not only with cloning, but all that genetic engineering stuff.
i mean, i'm looking forward to the annihilation of the human race as much as the next sociopath, but i'm afraid some dummy scientist is gonna accidentaly invent something that'll not only kill us, but also maybe even fuzzface.
and i can't be havin' that.

or worse, somebody will invent something that makes immortality attainable, that would probably be the worse thing that could happen

genetic engineering has been around for ages. it is just recently that we have been able to directly engineer at the molecular level. but selective breeding and creation of new species is nothing new. the silk moth, for example, is a man made species, created by hundreds of years of selective breeding by the chinese.
i think that a lot of people don't really know enough about genetic engineering other than what they have seen in movies or in the occasional news story. in actuallity, just like any technology, there is the potential for great things and terrible things. But just because there is the possibility that something could be exploited for evil purposes, does not mean that it should be banned. I'm all for regulating scientists and their work as long as it is done in a constructive manner. In fact, there is already a ton of regulations, to the point that it is extremely difficult to conduct any research when it involves humans or animals without jumping through many many hoops.
I think it is fortunate that we live in a time where scientists are no longer burnt at the stake for opening people's eyes to reality.

i think that immortality is not probable. But then we invented so many things we thaught we couldn't at first.

The more the merrier. Piles of kittens everywhere!
I'm not looking forward to immortality, but I'd love to for ''them'' to find a way to extend life to about 200 years (optional). Slow down the aging process. Fuck it, I won't be around long enough to see it anyway. Maybe if I lived to be 200.
