Yagya. Buy it, borrow it or download this.
One of the most important ambient albums (IMO). He has taken a season and made it audible to the ear. I would love to be driving in a snow storm listening to this. Actually i have done that already.
I heavily encourage you to give this a chance if you havent yet.

A bit of information
Icelandic producer Yagya (Aalsteinn Gumundsson) has been creating atmospheres through melody and sounds for more then a decade. A definitive member of the Thule Musik collective, Yagya also is known for his work as half of Sanasol and also the famed Plastik. A student of computer science at the University of Iceland Yagya spends his free time creating music on his computer. He concentrates on atmospheres and moods and tries to reflect the beauty of the world around him in the sounds of his music. He seeks influence in the works of Gas, Philip Glass, Basic Channel, Brian Eno and anything that is true to itself and it's ideas. Yagya concentrates on the softer side of music and avoids heavy rhythms. He finds harmony and beauty in the simple sounds of nature and wants his music to flow naturally through the listener. Rhythm of Snow creates techno infused softness influenced by the harmony of nature. Every natural sound is in harmony with everything else, Yagya creates a gentle experience through minimalistic beats with the listener. Yagya strips his music of every unnecessary sound and only leaves the essential elements to flow through the listener in order to create calmness. Layered with rain and water the music becomes organic and lifelike, manipulated by the randomness of wind and surf."

for me 4 does capture the season, as i am from guelph and the beautiful melodies in combination with the harsh and pressuring backings and rhythm remind me of the winter i know and love, the on i fear but miss, and the one that i wish was almost over.

Acid Le Soken by Ceephax is good winter tuneage.
Its like this: Rotating gnomes sliding on slick ice while a flying car drifts over them and the white dotted landscape as we soar into your heart!
