Any older guys in their late 20s/30s/early40s/mid
teens/late 50s remember these guys? Know much about them? I
have their best of, and man... some of these songs tug on my
balls with aplomb. Beautiful stuff. Souvenir and Joan of Arc
are as good as any synth-pop/new wavey stuff I've ever
heard, the former with such an awesome arpeggio hook and the
latter being just fucking INSPIRING. Was any of this shit a
hit? Or even remotely close to that level?

Yeah, Joan of Arc is kinda nice, but I prefer Ultravox and
Human League better.

Teacher's note: remove 'better' to make your sentence right.

they were quite successful in the 80's back in the uk - joan
of ark and electricity were both big in thier time
then the duo spilt later on and the omd of the nineties
wasnt quite as inspired as before but a few hits till
remained - nowadays the omd writes songs for other artists
and i belive was actually responsible for atomic kitten (bad
gil pop band )

Good to hear, I'm glad they were compensated somewhat.
Souvenir is a number 1 hit in my heart.

And stop calling them OMD, it makes me think back to ''how
bizarre, how bizarre''.

I really like the album Junk Cultire but dobbin called me a
fool for having such a notion. However, Love and Violence,
Tesla Girls, the instrumental track Junk Culture (that
actually appears in some mutated form in Blade Runner,
correct me if I'm wrong) and Talking Loud and Clear are all
WINNERS in my book.

I'm worried because I've been listening to this best-of for
weeks, unable to really grab hold of a full album. I feel
like I'm doing some sort of disservice or something.

Duncan Norvelle lives within chasing distance of you. Next
you'll say you have Dustin Gee's mortal remains in a special
box under your bed.
