Fixeshheses:

- Installer fixed so that read_file.dll is installed always
with .mod support
- in_mp3 & in_nsv work on Win95 again (introduced via a 5.06
bugfix)
- Proxy settings work again (originally introduced via a
5.06 bugfix)
- Small resource-leak bugfix
- Rip/burn compatibility bugfix for users with newer Sonic
Engine installed
- New "Next" button in Winamp Modern skin, minus gray
artefact

"Winamp will die when the fat lady sings.... and she's tied
up and gagged in the basement right now!!"
LOL

They have some members left doing support and all.
DJ Egg (forums) kicks ass, he's a good guy.
Even I'm surprised they've sticked to their roots so much,
with all they've been through business-wise. And
employee-wise.

More than enough?
Ummmm...
I've always used the Default (classic) skin
Never needed much more
There's a kick ass skin that makes the modules integrate
into one UI (Like most other media players out there)
Here
I think it's still in development, though...
These should keep you busy for a while:

Deviant Art
Customize.org
Skinz.org
and finally
Skinbase.org

can you access the cddb files like with versions up to 3? as

WTF
"Pay for tracklisting"??
Not that I'm aware of. Why would they do that?
I've never paid for Winamp... it's always been able to do
anything very well that I've used it for, for free.
CDDB has always worked for me...

I use this to play CDs in Winamp. It has better
oversampling and error correction. Also it uses freedb
instead of CDDB so it's free and I find it's a more complete
database.

Install it and rename C:\Program
Files\Winamp\Plugins\in_cdda.dll to .bak so Winamp uses CD
Reader by default. Yoiu have to go into Winamp input plugin
preferences and tick the "use internet database" thingy to
make it give you a reack listing.
