from the same people who made Fruity Loops.

Try getting an updated regkey. Their server is swamped.

The new timestretching, loop recording mode and mp3 import
make it a worthwhile upgrade. Haven't really given it a
thorough workout - I'm sure it's a bug ridden monstrosity as
point oh releases tend to be. Fortunately it installs
alongside 4.x instread of overwriting it.

Hint: when you get the regkey right click on it and choose
"merge" so you can use both versions. I read that
somewheres.

Oh wow, they got the CPU usage of Sytrus waaaaaay down. It's
far more usable now - I still will probably keep it in mono
mode to conserve CPU - the sounds are too thick and lush for
chords anyhow.

Timestretching; that is what the Granulizer was for. That
plugin was fun.

Yeah, I'll have to listen to it, and as long as its not
overly long, I might be able to put it up. Again though, I
cant promise anything however.

They finally got their shit sorted out on their server and I
got a license key for 5. I wasn't about to start working in
it without a license and do something interesting (hey it
could happen) and not be able to save it. That would suck
cocks.

Oh yes and they finally have loop recording mode. Kind of
ironic they never had that until now!

Is that loop rendering or recording?

They had recording in 4.5 (where you would create an empty
wav file in the mixer, and then press the record button, and
after you were done, it would export into an audio clip).

Now you can loop over and over in the same pattern or
section of song and play the same tricky phrase over and
over until you get it right. Very handy if you happen to be
the kind of chap who plays in his music on a midi keyboard
instead of entering it with the mouse.
