Ok.. I just got lots of money, and I'm considering two options.. either a technics sl1210 mk5 or a package with a zoom 1608 portastudio with mic and mic stand...
the thing is.. when I look at the specs for the mk5, all the pages note different values for the pitch adjust... some say you can have 8 - 16 %, while other just say 8%. The official page says 8-16, but that page is kind of strange, so... has anyone actually GOT an 1210mk5, and can tell me what the pitch adjust REALLY is?

I've heard (so that doesn't really answer your question about "knowing") that it's a switch that goes between 8 and 16%. Basically one pitch slider, but based on whether the switch is on the 8% or 16% option, the amount pitch will increase when you move the slider is doubled (or halved).

hmm..
weird... that's the other thing.. I can't really see any buttons for changing pitch on any of the pics of it either... they have that pitch-reset button, but other than that, no more new buttons from mk2...
