Which is the best release to start with? I'm hoping to get
a bit of insight into this artist, it sounds great.

Thanks

his last album (last as in both recent and quite possibly
last as in last -- there are rumors he quit making music, at
least under the arovane alias) lilies has some very
nice moments but is overall too schmaltzy. in tides
he just seems to be in full control and restraint of his own
powers as a music-maker and he deploys his talent with skill
and finesse.

Oh good.

That's what I had a listen to last night, heard a few tracks
from Slsk. I would buy this, but I can't find it over here -
maybe I'll order it in.

he also did a collaboration with phoneme on morr music under
the name 'aer (valid)' which has a few nice tracks, tho on
the whole it sounds a bit dated now -- i still like the
sound a lot -- earlyish autechre but more sentimental and
less cold..

he makes music under the alias of'"phonem", doesn't he? i've
heard that name somewhere.

heh. i imagine you wrote that before reading my post.

phonem (with or without an e? not sure myself) is another
artist on morr whom he collaborated with

i'm listening to a track called "(Fard)Ent:R" off aer
(valid) which is very nice.

tides is the best, i think. if you like it, be sure to
check out christian kleine who assisted in some way or
another on the record (i believe he did the drumming).

i don't really like lilies, though. i think it sounds kinda
half assed. ah well.

honestly i haven't listened to him in forever. maybe i'll
pull out some of his stuff.

Tides and lillies if you wantb the mellow stuff, but my
favourite is Icol Diston, which is a collection of early
singles and ep's.
