Right so my iBook has only got one audio-out port so when im diddling on Traktor I just been having one ear as monitor and the other as master, but I might have to actually mix live in a few months and besides the problems incorporated with me not really knowing what im doing at all, I don't know how I can play through some speakers and still have my headphones on for non public noodling. What can I do?

I would reccomend a very cheap audio interface. You would only need one multiple out capability since you want to DJ with your laptop.
M-Audio has many different types to suit your budget. If anyone knows of a cheaper option, help Dannn_ out.

USB soundcard will probably help a bunch. It is powered by the USB port that its plugged into, so it keeps your only audio-out port free for something else, oh and you'll have a audio interface...

Yeah that looks good as long as you can route the headphone out as a specific channel.
