I'm doin a course this semester called Religion and Popular Music... anyways, in one of the classes my prof was talking about subjective judgements about music, and that certain things about music will mean certain things to different people, etc... anyways, I brought up IDM, and how the name Intelligent Dance Music is really a subjective statement... some people might think it sounds intelligent, while others may think it sounds stupid... anyways, he had never heard of this type of music, so I talked to him after class, and I'm going to lend him a couple cds...
I was thinking maybe Confield by Autechre, and SAW II by Aphex Twin...

you should give him Drukqs, Confield, Geogaddi, and Fyuti. And then see what he says he liked the most.
I'm betting on Geogaddi for some reason.

my thought was also fyuti and geogaddi...i think the teacher will most likely fancy those two rather than aE or afx.
but as you said,he never heard about the genre,so why not better than Ae or afx
