I've actually become so lazy that I can't really be bothered to change CDs anymore (plus i like my randomise button on winamp). So I'm now ripping all my Cds to MP3, can anyone suggest a quicker way than Winamps little ripping package? Or do i just sit here patiently for a week?

I use FreeRip...don't know if it's faster, but it's pretty darn good...
I did the same thing 3 years ago, and been doing it ever since. I only trust 192kbps stereo mp3's, 'cause variable bitrates fuck up my visualitation in winamp, + it's a compact, but stilll high quality format.
Good tip: decide how you want your mp3's and folers named; I do it like this:
Artist - Album (Year)/Artist - Album - Trck# - Title.mp3

i use CDex, it has this remote tagging feature, you enter the cd, click a button, get all the filenames and id3 tags from a cddb database. plus it comes with the latest lame encoder.
with a fast drive you can rip 60 min audio into 256kbps in less then ten minutes

Itunes does a good job. Not the fastest but you just need to press the copy button and then go have some coffee

well maybe every 20 cds there is a jitter error but at least cdex tells you if that happens. in that case i use EAC (exact audio copy).

i used dbpoweramp music converter to rip all my cds. it can convert between formats (i think it only comes with lame mp3 and wav codecs though, but you can download others from the site), and it also comes with a cd ripping software. i don't know how good it is though, compared to other software, because its the only thing i've used.

I use itunes, extremely fast on my G5 1.8 and also I use AAC format as its better quality than mp3's.

192kbps = cd-quality...how the hell should I need more than that?
besides...visualization is good for live-gigs and for background when running it through my tv...
